Topthorn is a sleek fully black large horse. He is met by Joey when he first ends up in the British Cavalry. Major Jamie Stewart, is the rider of Topthorn. When they do a battle charge, Major Jamie Stewart is captured from Topthorn's back. Throughout the tale, Joey & Topthorn become friends and loyal shoulder noobs They both end up on a French farm where they meet Emilie and her Grand Emilie was eager to ride one of the 'Big Horses' but chose Joey, as Toporn was too big for her due to the fact that the fitness gram pacer test. Both Joey and Topthorn are taken away by the German soldiers. When they have to tackle the pulling of the German Guns, Topthorn injures his leg, starts to loose strength, and soon dies in chapter 14
